Terms of purchase
All items purchased remain the property of Cambridge Futons until payment has been received in full.

No contract shall be in place until Cambridge Futons either expressly gives notice of its acceptance to the purchaser, or impliedly by fulfilling an order in whole or in part.
This policy does not affect your statutory rights.
Prices include VAT at the prevailing rate of 20%. All prices and product details are accurate at the time of entry. We reserve the right to amend prices at any time and without notice.
Because of the way futons are made, with layered fabric fillings, they initially contain a lot of air. Your futon will always ‘settle’ by approximately 20% in the first few weeks of use. To take this into account our futons are much thicker than their Japanese counterparts and therefore may seem difficult to fold at first. With use, this will soon be corrected and your futon will adjust to your seating position.
To look after your futon and stop it settling unevenly, we suggest you roll the futon one way and then another, or occasionally give it a shake (a job for two people) to re-distribute the fibres. Settlement may be irregular and more noticeable if a person sits in one position on the futon constantly or a single person sleeps in the middle of a double futon. We recommend that use of a futon should be regulated across the surface to allow even settlement.
Your futon is a mattress therefore the outer cover cannot be removed.
We are sometimes able to make special sized or bespoke futon mattresses (with your choice of colour-ways) for an extra charge (please call for a quote), however once these have been made we are unable to accept a return or cancellation for any reason other than a manufacturing fault. Please bear in mind that the size we are given is the size the futon will be when sewn, and it may be -/+ a few cm’s when buttoned.
The images we provide of the fabrics online are to be used as a guide only. Computers all have different settings and may distort the colourways and texturing of the images. If you would like a physical fabric sample, we would be happy to post one. Please call us on 01395 239830 or email us email@example.com, or use our contact form.
We have tried to give you the most accurate information about the dimensions of our products but due to the handmade nature of the products, all measurements are approximate to +/- 2cm. Please bear this in mind when measuring your home and also take care to check all access routes to ensure that large furniture items can be physically manoeuvred into your home, especially wardrobes.
Faults and problems
If a frame is faulty on delivery, we will replace the necessary part, as long as we are notified within 7 days of delivery and are provided with a photograph of the part. A photograph is essential as we need to ensure the correct part is sent out.
If any damage occurs in the first 12 months due to a manufacturing fault, we will replace the faulty part, once we have received a photograph of the damage – to be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you should receive the goods and wish to return them for any reason other than a fault, the goods must return within the statutory 14 days from delivery. You are then responsible for ensuring the item is packaged in the original packaging in a way that it arrives back to us in perfect condition. When this is done, you will be credited for the value of the goods. However we will recover the cost of return which would be £80 per item deducted from the refund amount. If an exchange is required we will recover the cost of return and re-delivery which will be £110. Please also note that if the returned goods are damaged by the couriers we will be unable to make a full refund.
Once a delivery/collection date has been arranged with you, you have to be in on the day of delivery/collection for the courier to deliver/collect the goods. Should the courier attempt delivery/collection and you be out, or not answer, a second delivery/collection charge will be made.
If the incorrect address is given when the order is placed, and not corrected for despatch, a £15 re-routing charge will be made.
Due to hygiene reasons, the law is strict about returning products used as a mattress. A mattress can be tried as it would be in a showroom (i.e. sat on) but cannot be slept on. Once it has been slept on it cannot be returned. So, if your mattress has been removed from the packaging and sat on (but not slept on) it can be returned, however, we will charge £80 to recover the collection charge. If an exchange is required we will recover the cost of return and re-delivery which will be £110. Please also note that if the returned goods are damaged by the couriers we will be unable to make a full refund.
