Swift Futon Sofa bed

The simple style of our Swift futon sofa bed combines a strong metal 2 seater with a very simple, front operated, mechanism to convert from a sofa to a double bed and back again.

Finished in silver and featuring a beech ‘sprung-slat’ sitting and sleeping platform, the Swift futon sofa bed combines with a specifically made futon mattress to provide a neat and compact sofa bed either with or without arms.

The Swift futon sofa bed is despatched flat-packed in 1 box and the futon is rolled. It is ready for you to assemble in a room of your choice.

There are two mattress options available with this base, these are:

Standard

The Standard Futon filling contains 2 layers of wool, 2 layers of Felt, 1 full layer of Polyester and an extra 1/3 sheet of Polyester in the seat section to provide extra strength. It has a medium support feel. This mattress is ideal when you will be using your futon regularly as a sofa and occasionally as a bed.

Flexi-Spring

We are now also able to offer a futon with a 1 inch pocket spring layer at the center. This provides greater longevity and gives a softer feel mattress, making it best suitable for frequent bed use.

Both fillings include the cotton rich felt. This makes the futon more breathable, so cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter.

To use

To change from sofa to a bed - simply lift and pull the seat forward and the frame does the rest. To return the bed to the sofa position, simply lift the front until it rests in the 45° position. This exposes the drawer for ease of packing. Now gently push-down on the frames leading edge. As the front goes down the middle comes up. It’s then just a simple case of pushing the drawer and frame forwards until it clicks into a locked position. Fabulously simply and straightforward.
